Valais hospital – working together for quality
Valais hospital occupies nine sites offering acute medicine and rehabilitation and treats more than 250,000 patients per year. Cooperation between the individual sites, disciplines (medicine, care, management) and the various specializations is a continuous challenge for us – in order to provide patient-oriented treatment and care.

We coordinate and pool the skills within our canton. Our experienced, well-trained employees are networked as specialists within their area of expertise as well as with the university centres, and they work in close cooperation with the latter.

The Valais Hospital is an independent organisation governed by public law grouping together the hospitals of Valais and the main public clinics of the canton under a single administration. It includes the following institutions: Brigue Hospital, Viège Hospital, Sierre Hospital, Ste-Claire Clinic (Sierre), Valais Pneumology Centre (CVP), Sion Hospital (incl. Gravelone), Martigny Hospital, Saint-Amé Clinic (St-Maurice) and the Psychiatric Institutions of French-speaking Valais (IPVR). The operating results of the Valais part of the Chablais Hospital (Monthey, Aigle) also come under Valais Hospital. Since 1st January 2004, Valais Hospital has been responsible for the implementation of cantonal hospital planning and has managed the hospitals and public medical-technical institutions having received official approval from the canton of Valais (ICHV). Due to this merger of ten institutions, there is now a unique hospital area with three hospitals offering a range of varied services.
